Received an email today from Dr. Sudhir saying BAD NEWS.......

It appears that the Egg Donor that we have chosen has disappeared! Maybe she changed her mind, got scared or whatever else. We are glad, that she did this in the initial stages rather than have started the process and not shown when egg retrieval day came. So we had to go back and select another ed and this time opted for the DIVA DONOR (Egg Donors who are more of a premium due to higher levels of education & employment).

So with the new egg donor selected it looks like the trip to Mumbai will take place in the latter part of January for Egg Retrieval, Sperm Donation, Embryo Creation & Transfer. Yipeeeeeee!

Flights are relatively cheap on in-direct routes, but we'll explore the options over Xmas. Hopefully BA will need to have a seat-sale to recover customer loyalty following the proposed Cabin Crew industrial strikes.

  1. That's too bad. My guess is that it's the surrogate who needs to be the most stable and reliable throughout the process. Or is the donor required to stay in the picture during the pregnancy?

  2. Yes, the Surrogate needs to stay put!! That's really important.....the Egg Donor can dissappear after the eggs have been extracted!

  3. OMG, this must be disappointing for you. I know with us it took several days to decide on which egg donor to go with. After all she will be the genitic connection to your baby.
We also were considering the Diva Donors as we made several selections that had already been taken....having to go back and re select each time.
Good luck with your new donor.....roll on January for you guys......not far away

  4. good luck with the new donor. i hope the new year brings you one of the best gifts ever:)

  5. I'm so glad this happened early on, not, as you say, when the process had already begun.

Can't wait to hear about your many successes in the weeks and months to come. Good luck!

  6. Sorry too hear she's gone... but glad it was in the early stages! Blessings to you and as a grown adopted kid.. you are doing a great thing!
